  1. You check the .zip file. That is also the one you upload to the IRS.
  2. Double work. Create the e-file, download the free accuwage tool which checks the file, then upload the file to SS. I despise double entering data. One more chance for me to make an error.
  3. ATX does not e-file W-2's. The program creates a file and you upload them to the SS site.
  4. If it is only happening in Sage, then it is a program problem with Sage. Check for program updates, call tech support and ask what the fix is. There has to be others that have experienced the same thing.
  5. I consider the Ohio Cities package a huge waste of money. It used to be part of the program, then CCH peeled it out as a cash cow. You can easily live without it.
  6. While in the return, click on e-file at the top, then choose "add .pdf." There will be places to attach documents.
  7. Scan and attach as a pdf.
  8. As I understand recent IRS clarification, only once per calendar year.
  9. I can have 3 returns open in the same screen. Not multiple copies of the program running, which is the only way Drake will do that. I simply click the tab to change returns. PRICELESS for those of us in Ohio. MFJ and both MFS open at the same time.
  10. It seems that the form updates over the weekend fixed this issue. We had 2 in limbo and both are working fine now.

  12. This is exactly the reason I do not use direct debit for ANY payments when filing the tax return. Set the client up with EFTPS and allow them to direct when the payments are drafted. I choose not to be the "checkbook babysitter" for grown adults.

  14. Anyone who has a client over the 400% of federal poverty rate that owes all subsidy back will get the dreaded "When Line 6 is 'No', the taxpayer does not qualify for a credit. Discard any information entered on lines 11-23 in columns A through E." There is no way to make it work. Tech support (sic) had me send the return to them and "This will have to be referred to the developers to see what is wrong. Nothing will happen before Monday." This form was updated today. GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :wall: If you get this error, don't waste any time trying to work around it. I am on the warpath with this one!!
  15. Your organization(s) are by far the minority of all universities around the country. I wish you had been working at the university my daughters attended!!
  16. Subject: HOW ASPARAGUS GOT ITS NAME HOW ASPARAGUS GOT ITS NAME; MAKES SENSE TO ME... A sixth grade child was asked to write a book report on the entire Bible. Here is what he wrote; The Children's Bible in a Nutshell In the beginning, which occurred near the start, there was nothing but God, darkness, and some gas. The Bible says,"The Lord thy God is one," but I think He must be a lot older than that. Anyway, God said, "Give me a light!" and someone did. Then God made the world. He split the Adam and made Eve. Adam and Eve were naked, but they weren't embarrassed because mirrors hadn't been invented yet. Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating one bad apple, so they were driven from the Garden of Eden ... Not sure what they were driven in though, because they didn't have cars. Adam and Eve had a son, Cain, who hated his brother as long as he was Abel. Pretty soon all of the early people died off, except for Methuselah, who lived to be like a million or something. One of the next important people was Noah, who was a good guy, but one of his kids was kind of a Ham. Noah built a large boat and put his family and some animals on it. He asked some other people to join him, but they said they would have to take a rain check. After Noah came Abraham,Isaac, and Jacob. Jacob was more famous than his brother,Esau, because Esau sold Jacob his birthmark in exchange for some pot roast. Jacob had a son named Joseph who wore a really loud sports coat. Another important Bible guy is Moses, whose real name was Charlton Heston. Moses led the Israel Lights out of Egypt and away from the evil Pharaoh after God sent ten plagues on Pharaoh's people. These plagues included frogs, mice, lice, bowels, and no cable. God fed the Israel Lights every day with manicotti. Then he gave them His Top Ten Commandments. These include: don't lie, cheat, smoke, dance, or covet your neighbor's stuff. Oh, yeah, I just thought of one more: Humor thy father and thy mother. One of Moses' best helpers was Joshua who was the first Bible guy to use spies. Joshua fought the battle of Geritol and the fence fell over on the town. After Joshua came David. He got to be king by killing a giant with a slingshot. He had a son named Solomon who had about 300 wives and 500 porcupines. My teacher says he was wise, but that doesn't sound very wise to me. After Solomon there were a bunch of major league prophets. One of these was Jonah, who was swallowed by a big whale and then barfed up on the shore. There were also some minor league prophets, but I guess we don't have to worry about them. After the Old Testament came the New Testament. Jesus is the star of The New Testament. He was born in Bethlehem in a barn. (I wish I had been born in a barn too, because my mom is always saying to me, "Close the door! Were you born in a barn?" It would be nice to say, ''As a matter of fact, I was.'') During His life, Jesus had many arguments with sinners like the Pharisees and the Republicans. Jesus also had twelve opossums. The worst one was Judas Asparagus . Judas was so evil that they named a terrible vegetable after him. Jesus was a great man. He healed many leopards and even preached to some Germans on the Mount. But the Democrats and all those guys put Jesus on trial before Pontius the Pilot. Pilot didn't stick up for Jesus. He just washed his hands instead. Anyways, Jesus died for our sins, then came back to life again. He went up to Heaven but will be back at the end of the Aluminum. His return is foretold in the book of Revolution. (Nothing bad will happen if you don't forward this, but if you do forward this delightful story you'll make someone LAUGH today, and they'll keep spreading the laughter by sending it on!!)
  17. I only renew by phone with my sales rep. If the discounts go away, all the pesky irritating program problems better be gone too!! Otherwise, I will be calling tech support every single day till it is fixed. If they promote their product as first rate and try to price it that way, then the delivery better be improved over 2014. Especially the server retry issue. Tech and management try to blame it on hardware until the log in and see my config. Then the truth comes out. The program and the database are overwhelmed when the client list exceeds 250 or so. Just my rant!!
  18. it is known as the whistle blower form or the tattletale form.
  19. It has been an option by many software providers for several years. The IRS has stated they would like to move to that instead of mailing checks.
  20. They have to make sure the BILLIONS all get distributed.
  21. Just a drop in the sea of fraudsters. Until Americans are weaned from "immediate" refunds, this problem will not go away. All attempts and processes to reduce them are only a scratch on the surface of the problem. Americans dependency on the tax refund as a savings account is the source of the problem.
  22. Let us know how far that gets you. I predict nowhere.
  23. Nothing you can do but wait. I have never been able to get any information from the IRS about a delayed refund. It is in their court and no one else is allowed in.
