I am constantly saving to ATX as well as to the export drive. Just can't take a chance. I didn't have the ACKs issue either. Who knows?

Yes, too late. I sent off five yesterday and eight this morning. I might also be too late for a profitable tax season. I just had another crash tonight. Thankfully, all was saved to jump drive.

Or, when you wake up really early and after fifteen minutes decide that you might as well get up and work as you are preparing tax returns in your head anyway!

Dar.......I think when you reach 100 posts, you will change from "newbie" to "advanced". I really am glad that you found us.

I saw it first on Pinterest. Actually have it pinned to my Accounting page. It looks good on you.

We use a LOT of paper plates during tax season. Sometimes, we just eat our chips right out of the bag and drink our beer or soda from the can.

I have two clients each year (the same two) who bring in unopened and uncashed dividend checks.

She isn't a HOH because they are all living with a relative. What are the chances that the relative could qualify for the EIC? Who is taking the dependency of the siblings? Who does provide the support and housing?

This is true. We got nailed with the paperwork when we did just the opposite. Made One deposit of two transactions. In WI, they would really like to check out $5000 cash deposits, but it is not mandatory yet. Several years ago, I spent all day with a State person who went through every deposit slip and every purchase and sale for the entire year.; looking for large cash purchases. This was the Auto Business books. We were clean and have never heard from them again.

We live not far from a Cheese Factory and make a few trips a week to their outlet store to "load up". Our refrigerator is never without a variety of cheese. Oh, and, In Marathon, WI you can get Vermont white cheddar right from the factory. Imagine that! If I had to opt for the BEST, I might have to say fresh cheese curds.

Do you like to cut the mustard too?

Oh, De, you need to put that out in a category of its own. Too funny........

I've been wearing socks and no shoes for weeks. Sweats as soon as the last client leaves for the day. Yes, this board is really amazing.

You can do that by putting it in the "Direct" expense column for repairs on the 8829.

I keep originals of anything with withholding and copies of anything that might matter later.

Welcome back Kerry! We are definitely a group of one.

I have been using it all day. Seems to be pretty stable. It takes longer for my splash screen to open, but otherwise it is about the same as what I had except that it isn't quirky or jumpy like it was.

Yes, I have always said that it is like being pushed off a bridge. Fortunately, I have a part-time job to go back to for a week in May which helps with the transition to "normal life".

I also use a flash drive. Do not have any issues. Can move files from here to laptop. They are all there.

Only once? That has to be a record. Why do they always wait to tell you they have changed banks until after it is filed?

Can it really be true???? 12.13 an answer to prayers?

I see little change for the better, but then, I have never had major problems. One thing that I did notice is that the Client letter is messed up again. In order to get the State to say direct deposited as well as the Federal; you have to open the State letter and check the e-file options on both. It was like this in the beginning; got fixed and has been working well. I know there are a lot worse things to gripe about, but I haven't been working with the update that much today so really can't judge. The Print manager is a bit better. -

Ray in Ohio, you are not alone. Some days I am hopeful; others I just look at the boxes of returns yet to be done and wonder what in the world I am going to do. I am still working with 12.10 on this machine because I am afraid to ruffle the waters. I did update on my laptop, but no time to try it out. I have to keep telling myself that these latecomers are not MY problem. On the other hand, it wouldn't have mattered when they came because we have all been working at full force with one hand tied behind our backs. -
I go along with the non-perforated forms. Even I have perforated Uni-forms for W2 and 1099. Even our state unemployment forms are not perforated. I keep a pair of scissors handy, but it is annoying.

If you have ever had a refilled cartridge "blow" inside your printer, you would never try it again. This would be laser toner (everywhere). I didn't refill it, but purchased it. I am very happy with the generic cartridges that I use in my HP and they actually seem to last longer than the branded ones.

I keep shaking the cartridge till the white streak gets unbearable. The light stays on but I get a lot more pages of use. I keep a sticky note on the printer to tell when I changed it last. Also, I like Cartridge Warehouse on Amazon. Have never gotten a bad cartridge from them. They are not refilled, but 100% new compatibles. The price is amazing and the shipping us usually free.
