Yes, the only thing worse than not getting the client's info from the former preparer might be the prospect of GETTING the client's info from the former preparer. We've all had varying experiences in this regard, but I can only think of one or two times I picked up a client who was having a dispute with the former preparer when things turned out well. More often than not, I came to regret having picked them up as a client and it became obvious why the old relationship soured.

I just noticed that this is going to be my 1000 post so I want it to be a good one. I want to thank Eric for setting up this board and administering it so well; thanks for your time and efforts. Thanks to KC, Jainen, Lion, Taxbilly, Catherine, Old Jack, Jack from Ohio, Mcb and all the other prolific posters that take the time and care to provide good and thoughtful advice. Jainen, you provide outlooks on issues that most of us don’t see until hit on the head with them. Jack and Jack debates are so very informative. KC, what can be said but thank you and you should know that All of our thoughts are with you and Don.

Incase I hit the jackpot tonight, I will be looking tax accountant, anyone? Really whom I'm I kidding, the odds of winning are not in my favor :(

Sometimes yes, sometimes no in PA. I was thinking it was me - maybe dragging inadvertantly on the print menu. At this late stage of the game, I was ready to just accept it as that - since most of what I am doing now is on auto pilot anyway. Nice to know I may still be a little bit awake.

I splurged $5 in the pool here at the firm. 11 of us. Would only be about $13 Million each spendable after taxes. Trying to plan how to lower our lifestyle to accomodate those earnings. If we win, there may be a tax business up for sale....

I'm ashamed to admit that I bought a ticket. But honestly, after spending $80 to fill the gas tank, what's another dollar?

You know contrary to some opinions, GOD is alive and well. I saw a new life in perfect condition brought into our family this AM. I see from above that Don is doing better. You guys will be on prayer list and hope for speedy recovery. You know all things can happen with faith and prayer as many have attested to on the board.

I thought he might be doing better since I saw a few posts from you on other boards, which I took to mean you put your mind back to tax, but haven't had a chance to send an inquiry. I'm pleased to hear he is doing better! MUCH healing energy sent your way....

Had been wondering but was not going to post a query; figured you'd update us when you could. I am SO very glad to hear of his improvement!! You folks are staying on the prayer list, that's for sure.

Thank you for the update. Don is our family, too. Our prayers continue for Don, you, and his medical team.

Update, after two really really bad seizures, in just a two hour period, Don basically slept for two days. Could not wake him enough to even get food into him, etc., Suddenly, on the night of the second day, he just woke up and acted surprised to see me. But he is now getting better rapidly. Was able to actually walk a bit with the PT guys yesterday. If he gets back to being able to use a walker, that will be a huge improvement over when we got here. His spirits are also much much better. So I want to again thank every one of you who have prayed for us, I truly believe that is the reason for his recovery. We still have a way to go, but things are looking up and I am feeling much more hopeful. Keep it up, friends, it really does help.
