  1. I just successfully transmitted 23 W-2/3 forms for Fedaral and 17 for States. WOO HOO!!! Once you get all the little checkmarks in place, it is slick like goose grease!!! I will NEVER mail a W-3, 1096, 941, 943 or 944 again!!! I get a printable acknowledgment for each file transmitted. Don't get no better!!!
  2. I am waiting anxiously as well? So 12.12 is a form update?
  3. It is not nice for you to insult the monkey that way!!!
  4. I close the program every hour. I reboot the entire system every 3 hours. This seems to lessen (not stop) the resources issue.
  5. From personal tragic experience, I do not trust the integrity of the backup files. Scared for next year.
  6. I spoke with one of the Drake brothers about their product. Currently the program IS a windows program that has keyboard shortcuts and keystrokes to do most of the common tasks. You can have the Windows based program with the old DOS feel.
  7. Thank You for posting, but we had everything at Netframeworks 4.5 over 2 weeks ago. I was hoping for a new process or change.
  8. This kind of publicity is good for my business!!
  9. Health insurance only. The first step in the implementation of Obamcare. Also, this information will be needed when we do the 2014 tax returns.
  10. Please post for us what the tech did for you? Be very detailed and specific. You must have talked to the only experienced tech support person there. Are you networked? At the firm here, we are dying a slow death and anything you can share will be wonderful.
  11. Sent you a message.
  12. I need some direction about establishing my authorization number with SS to e-file W-2 forms.
  13. That is reality. I have standalone at home and have 5% of the problems we have at the firm on our domain server network. As I hear more and more "dodging the issue" from tech support, I am convinced that the network issue is not being actively corrected, nor will it be. I actally spoke to a tech support person after being on hold only 45 minutes. After a 40 minute talk with the "tech support person" and teaching her file and folder access restrictions in WIN7 and Server 2008, I politely asked for someone who knew how to troubleshoot the program. She told me that no supervisors were available. I was also told that the issues that were supposedly "expedited" up to the Development Department on Wed. March 13, "had not been looked at yet and there is no update to fix them." I hung up and called a Drake Rep.
  14. At the top of the state E-file info page, check the box to unlink the state return from the Federal. Problem solved.
  15. 12.10 is the last I will recommend. 12.11 has crippled production on our domain network. Standalone installations are different. 12.11 did not seem to damage my standalone installation at my private practice. WIN7 PRO 64 bit is the OS of choice for this program. At the firm, we see sustantial difference between 32 bit and 64 bit WIN7 PRO.
  16. XP was scheduled to be dropped by Microsoft 3 years ago. It is living on borrowed time and is a dinosaur. Move to WIN7 PRO 64 bit. Computer life will be much faster and more secure.
  17. I think you could use some Xanax. This has become much too personal to you and your ranting and conjectures are becoming stale.
  18. My office is cell phone unfriendly. Aluminum siding and a metal roof. No problems with I-phones or any other phones. I have wi-fi that is password protected if someone has a real need. I always have the client's attention.
  19. The lists are available for almost all input fields EXCEPT on Schedule E. Right click. I asked the last technician I talked to about the problem and received this response: (It has been 3 weeks now) "This problem has been forwarded to our development department for consideration." I am not holding my breath on this one either....
  20. Maintaxguy, Your posts have the tone of a personal vendetta against CCH or ATX. While we all have our reasons to be angry this year, yours seem to go deeper. Perhaps a former employee?
  21. Cathy, Colleges have stopped accepting copies of tax returns for verification. They demand the transcript from the IRS.
  22. "This problem has been forwarded to our development department for consideration." This is a quote.
  23. Would you consider spending nearly $50K on your tax software?
  24. It will take as much as 3 weeks AFTER the 2012 return is processed before the transcript the college wants will be available from the IRS. Rampant fraud in this area with colleges in the past has caused them to require the IRS transcripts instead of the tax forms from the client. First hand experience on this one. I have 3 children. From 2002-2010 I had children in college. Two years there were two in at the same time. If son had gone more than 2 years, I would have had all three in college at the same time. Currently my kids are 28, 26 & 25. Oldest went 5 years. Back to the matter at hand. Filling out FAFSA with estimates will get the financial aid process at the college started. When the FAFSA is updated and completed will NOT change the amount of Federal assistance the student will or will not receive. However, some colleges have college based scholarships and grants that may be affected by the timing. Each college is different in that respect.
  25. And only for 1,000 returns. Our office will do over 2,900. You do the math....
