Anyone else? I'm working fine without any problems on the prior update.
-
Updated about an hour ago, so far no issues. After the previous update, I only had the 'server' error once, and that was after a re-boot and likely I hadn't allowed enough time for the computer to load everything before starting ATX.

Poison might work

Just did one of these. Of course the time share people told her to be sure to use what they paid, so client thinks a loss. I reported with code L - loss not deductible.

I have the same exact problem with an S-Corp first filed in 2011. E-filed the first year no problem. Last year got the entity type error so I paper filed the extension. I have the 2553 from the attorney and everything seems ok. Paper filed the return last year and the client didn't have any correspondence with the IRS, but when I tried to e-file the extension just last week got the same error again.

Sometimes clicking restore in the name field puts the name back.

Is it proper to charge for expediting? I think it's necessary.

You may have this option turned off. Under preferences, return manager, there's a check box "show e-file status information for selected return"

New client referred to me paid HRB $243 last year for a return with income less than the filing requirement (She is 82), only had to file to receive refund from withholding. They filed a schedule A and told her she saved a bunch of money. Would have taken me 15 minutes for the return had I not had to enter her new information.

I cant see any improvement performance wise from the earlier release.

It seems that my system has the 'server' error less often after the 13.4 update.

I too have been a user since the Saber days. Except for the annoying 'server' error, ATX is working better than last year. Printing is much faster. e-fling has been going smoothly. I sure hope it stays that way, the more complicated returns wont be in until March. (At Least!)

Yes, you can convert Quicken to QB. One of my corporate clients insists on using Quicken, fairly simple company. I can convert over to QB. I have another QB file used for the General Ledger.
-
You can check the SID when the e-file is created. Many times the Fed and CA are the same, so I have the open the return discard and re-add the CA-Info page and recreate the CA e-file.

not only overwhelmed but getting very irritated at retry server

I wasn't clear on my last post. I should have said, under the power options, the hard drive and system sleep settings are set to 'never'.
-
There are no settings for hibernate, or sleep, etc in my system, but I get the error just the same. Clicking retry doesn't work and occasionally locks up temporarily. Here's the link to the ATX KB method which works for me every time. http://cchsfs-atx.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/14639/kw/

I get that error at random times. Very annoying. I still haven't figured out a pattern to it. Sometimes goes hours fine, and then it starts. Weird. Clicking retry doesn't always work, I have to manually restart the service which always works. Seems worse after I've rolled over returns.
-
I had the error a few times. I've been able to restart the 'server' (I'm on a standalone) through the control panel and get back in.

Jack, any particular Brother model you can recommend?

2nd day losses = (1000+(22000-4000) = 19,000; Won 22,000 = net 3000

I'm fairly tech savvy. I've built all my computers for a long time. Maybe one reason I never had most of the serious issues with ATX others have.
-
Ok, you guys convinced me. Just updated. Locked up the computer the first time at the backup screen at shutdown. Subsequent opening and closing seems to be working.

Has anyone had an issue with 12.18 being slower than earlier versions? I'm still on 12.13 with few problems.
