I too apologize. It just seemed very unusual that a person could be on disability retirement and be in the military at the same time. The way you explained it certainly makes sense.
How many people that have an office in home truly use it EXCLUSIVELY for business? I doubt if there is a single person anywhere that would qualify. I know, we are regulated by the code and regs, but . . .
I agree. Just because the office is not used exclusively for business does not mean that she does not have an office. The dining room table is her office if that is where she does her paper work.
I think I still have a typewriter back on the top shelf with my supplies. I think it has one of those carbon thing ribbons so I assume the ink isn't dried out and is still usable. I wonder if you can still buy typewriter ribbons?
I'm about 60 miles northeast of Birmingham and I have to walk to work every day in the rain, snow or blistering sun. Its at least 50 feet from my front door to my office.
Is it even reasonable to ask to see the bank statements for a Sch C or F? After all, we aren't auditing the return, just preparing it from information the client gives us.
I use Drake for income tax and Medlin for accounting, payroll, and for my own accounts receivable. Medlin is simple to use and is completely adequate for my needs. The only drawback for me is that it can't be used on a network.
I haven't used Quickbooks in years.
Looks like the client will have to buy WC insurance to cover his sub contractors. I assume WC insurance can be bought to cover such situations. Client needs to check with his insurance company. The only other way to get around it is to require sub contractors to have insurance.
