  1. TWO THUMBS UP!! You are better off without him. No need to tolerate anti-Semetic comments or actions from anyone!! You go girl!!
  2. We are sorry Where's My Refund is currently unavailable. Please try again later or call the Refund Hotline at 1-800-829-1954.
  3. I doubt that anyone who knows him takes much stock in what he says. I know the type. Lots of people smile and nod, while in their minds they dismiss his rantings as fertilizer.
  4. For the record, our network is total Gigabit standard for three years now. Speed of the network talking to each other is NOT the issue. Tell that person to go blow smoke at someone who will actually buy the crap they are spreading. It will help, but the problems this year, it will be an inperceptible increase in speed. Refer them to me, if you wish. I will arrange the attitude of that uninformed person to reality. Of course if it goes from ten minutes to open a return to 5 minutes, I guess that is a doubling of speed? Such CRAP they are trying to spread. It is almost as if the politicians in Washington are teaching them how to respond!!!! One more reason I REFUSE TO EVEN LOG ON THEIR BOARD!!
  5. You are better off without him as a client.
  6. I can promise you that no one using a domain server will buy ATX for next year. No one using a non-domain server (peer to peer) will buy ATX again either. The program is slow, it has major issues when trying to e-file. Takes 2 hours to get efile acks. Nothing the tech people suggest does any good. We are exploring all options for 2013 tax season. I doubt that ATX will survive the tsunami, especially with all the self made holes in the ship!!
  7. The FEDERAL IRS does not bow to county court orders. You will find that if you file any other way than per IRS regs, they will receive a notice. First hand experience. The court should have awarded an amount in the splitting of marital assets. Spouse 1 pays spouse 2 $XXX. The county judge cannot dictate IRS regulations.
  8. Did that once. Has made NO difference!! No special pricing for the year I returned, NOTHING SPECIAL. CCH has no clue about proper customer service or customer loyalty appreciation. I am waiting for the "renew early" solicitations...
  9. I agree with MAS. Even if a doctor writes a "prescription" to remove the mold, it won't fly with an auditor. Even without the breathing problem, removing the mold would be considered maintenance or repair and would be done by anyone finding that condition in their home. In fact, some insurers will not insure a home if mold is present, or not removed when found. I also believe that the mold issue has been through tax court and deemed not a casualty loss. The definition of casualty gets in the way.
  10. I recently e-filed a 2011 1040 with OH and both were acknowleged.
  11. The IRS statement is for tax preparation businesses that send out W-2s created by them. Not likely that JH or HRB do any payroll for the companies. JH & HRB pony up big bucks to the companies to include their advertising on the W-2s. I tried to get in in my little town and found this out.
  12. It means that the process of transmitting or receiving acks for that client, the e-file has become corrupted. Delete the e-files tagged that way, recreate the e-file and submit again. Nothing else works, trust me. Had to delete over 30 of them for the same reason. It is yet another ATX2012 glitch/bug/defect.
  13. Can the paranoia and download and install 12.10.
  14. I cover that issue by updating all states. Easy Peasy...
  15. Transmitting 153 efiles this morning. Started transmitting at 8:45. 10:45 and they are still transmitting. Seems that it takes one minuter per efile to transmit. On a domain server network, transmitting e-files slows all workstations by 40% or more. The other preparers are not happy with me today!!
  16. If the school is part of the Federal Education Assistance program, it is accredited. If the school has a number for use with the FAFSA program, it is accredited. The administration at the school are slackers for the way they handle the paperwork, and the student and student's family are the ones who pay the price for their slacking. You can find the name and address of the school on the internet and use the FEIN number from the 1098T. College business offices and financial aid offices give me indigestion and headaches by the apathetic way they treat students and parents in this area.
  17. Quick and easy fix... Works for all states. If the 1099G is only for state refunds, delete the 1099G, jump into line 10 of the 1040, enter the amount of the refund there. May have to delete twice.
  18. The IRS will mail the check. However, to expect it in 6-8 weeks is very optimistic. No option for direct deposit on 1040X.
  19. If the 1099G is only for state refunds, delete the 1099G, jump into line 10 of the 1040, enter the amount of the refund there. May have to delete twice.
  20. Nonresident does not have to file the RITA form. The taxes withheld are their gift to the city for the privilege of working there!
  21. Who has time to wait for another "program update" for three weeks. We recreated from scratch over 25 returns.with the FAM error. Tech said "...there is no fix for this problem. The developers are..." Maybe your clients are willing to wait an extra 3 weeks for you to file their return, but we don't have ANY with that kind of patience.... The problem occurred on the 25 returns done on the day 12.9 was released. 12.10 stopped the continued corruption, but was/is not able to allow access to the corrupted returns created under 12.9. Losing TOTAL faith that anyone at CCH gives a flying flip about us.
  22. You should have downloaded 12.10 from the ATX site and installed it the day it came out. Follow the instructions on the download page EXACTLY.
  23. At least all the information you need stays in the corner of the screen instead of looking at the return, or clicking back to the return. In fact, you don't even have to open the return at all.
  24. At the top of the NY Efile page, check the box to "unlink" the NY efile from the Fed.
