  1. It seems to me as though once you print through the print manager; which is a royal pain, then print page starts working. Odd!
  2. Talk about fattening; I am practically living on pasta, chips and sweets that my hubby keeps bringing into the office for me and my helper. She can afford it. I am trying to stay on maintenance.
  3. That's OK! Some of us "Elders" knew what it meant. Be thankful that you are young enough not to know for sure. And, we have a right to feel sorry for ourselves this year. Wednesday was my "losing it" day. It all started with the notice that three people were removing me from their friends list. I never did find out where that came from or where it went; but at least three new people jumped into my friends' list almost instantly. Thanks guys and gals.
  4. Me four! In WI the property tax carries over to the State return for a credit; as well as sometimes the itemized deductions are worth a couple of bucks. I always fill out and print the Sch A if they bring in the deductions. As Jack said, it keeps them happy.
  5. Mine is and working well. I just entered most of a very complicated return and had no glitches. Earlier, I had a problem with Print Page but that cleared itself up. Remember to close program, download update, install update, REBOOT and then open program.
  6. At first I had a problem with Print Page, but it went away. No problems with unchecked boxes.
  7. That is correct; at least that long. XP is such a good strong OS; however my computers that run it are running out of update capabilities.
  8. So far, so good here. I updated desktop and laptop. Seems faster, but have not had a chance to give it a real workout yet.
  9. Thanks SCL and Gail; you both already are. I love having friends.
  10. I got the strangest message today on this site. It said "Three members have removed you as a friend. Would you like to know who they are?" When I clicked on it, it disappeared. Now I will never know who doesn't want me for a friend. Makes me sad.
  11. I had one of those last year where the preparer had put over $4000 of Mtg Interest onto the Interest Income line; so we were looking at an $8000 plus taxable error because these folks could have itemized. Also, Nuff said...
  12. I had my first case of Identity theft yesterday. Client is already on the case with the IRS. This is so disgusting. After Fed was rejected for second use of SS of primary taxpayer, I filed the state and it went through and was accepted. That is a pretty good sign of IT. At least the IRS homepage has some pretty clear guidance on how to proceed with contact info. Had one last year and it took them until August to get their refund.
  13. Are "vibs" related to tickies?
  14. Actually, Margaret, I have had minimal problems compared to the rest. Only two crashes the entire season; zero printing speed problems, and overall the program is working reasonably well with a few workarounds. I, too, have extreme sympathy for those who are having such severe issues; but it is such a bad year all around that the farther I go, the behinder I get.
  15. What? Why Not? How many more things could go wrong? Precipice of total implosion, indeed!!!!!
  16. They are really terrible this year; or is it because we are so far behind. I have been eating cough drops (and little else) all day because I am losing my voice from answering dumb phone questions. I started out with three appointments today which left me the afternoon to work; ended up with seven and have not produced one complete return today. For the first time this year, I feel as though I am really losing it. And, don't even go there, with the Girl Scout cookies. I swear if someone thought of it they would want to deduct the clorox to clean out the dingy kitchen sink. And then, "Oh, I just happened to be in town, can I swing by and pick up my taxes?" My silent reply was, "Bring cash and leave your spoiled daughter home who threw snowballs at my clean office windows and then smeared them around with her mittens; kept running in and out; leaving the door open and dripping snowy boots over everything. Not to mention hanging upside down in one of my new office chairs (with wet mittens and boots on) and don't say anything to her because she might cry." Gosh, you have to be at least half crazy to even think of doing this job at times.
  17. My IT guy also uses EaseUS and can actually backup my computer remotely.
  18. I don't believe that she is accepting any personal e-mail, and who can blame her.
  19. I am finding the new asset enty to be cumbersome and not at all to my liking.
  20. Also, some of the posts over there are disgusting and offensive. I don't recall every reading anything from Joel that was anything but the straight truth.
  21. Not so sure! Several years ago I had to battle with them to receive a referral fee for a new user who is still with them. Another one, I never received. So, if I do refer anyone (doubtful at this point), I don't even bother jumping through the hoops.

  23. Yes, congratulations. This is an expensive year for all of us in one way or another. Whether it be a new computer because even the not so old ones cannot handle this program; the hiring of extra help because of all of the down time and/or those who have ventured forth to new and different software. The stress level is maxing out and it isn't even March 1 yet. Let's hope and pray that things get better in the days ahead. I am actually, but not quite, getting to the point where I am trusting that this program can and may work. I notice new things every day, but still continue extensive scrutiny of each return both on the screen and after printing.
  24. My friend the Computer Guy says that is the greatest and the best and super fast. However, was not going to go that route with a brand new computer; bumping the ram to 16 G was bad enough. He was "just sayin"!
  25. Ready yesterday to have a melt down. Found a bunch of bills that were nearly (or already) past due. Who has time to dig through the pile on the kitchen table that just grows and grows. Better today. We are so snowed in that I should get something done this weekend. So far, so good with the program. Just must check everything after printing. I found a girl to help me last week. She is a tax client and knows beans about taxes, but is trustworhy and good at data entry and detail so am having her do some bookkeeping and will start her on assembling next week. Have ALWAYS done it all myself, but I will be so glad to see her walk through the door on Tues AM even if only for about 3 hours. Then hubby, with time on his hands, asks me if I want to go get anything from the grocery store. STORE, GROCERIES; what is that? I imagine he is getting hungry though, since the fridge is nearly empty. He says we will have to put a glass of water in there to give the lightbulb company. Sure, lay on the guilt trip!!!!! Well, now back to work.
