  1. Better chance of you getting hit with a meteorite.... That is why I only print from my .pdf file I make, of each completed return. From the .pdf, I can duplex any page to any page.
  2. Tell your junkmail, that the e-mail address from the fax company, is approved.
  3. My print function, in ATX, only prints schedules with information on them. Check your printing preferences in your preference settings.
  4. There is no way for you to get paid by the bank. You will need to get payment from the taxpayer. Their refund will be the total amount shown on Form 1040. No "Do Over" on this issue. It is one of the reasons I do NOT use any bank products.
  5. When you open the print list, drag and drop the documents in the order you want them to print.
  6. I thought that PMI deduction expired on 12/31/17, and has not been revived. Therefore, no place to put the deduction for 2018.
  7. This is what he gets for avoiding taxes on the tips he made, but did not report. His employer is going to tell him to take a hike. It would cost the employer money, to change the W-2. His avoiding tax puts him AND his employer at risk with the IRS. You did good!!
  8. Here is the e-mail from my client... My daughter, who is no longer a dependent, received a 1098-E for the interest paid on her college loan. I co-signed the loan and am legally required to pay on the loan. My daughter is not paying on the loan, and has in fact never paid on the loan. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board made it clear, with the threat of garnishment, that I must pay the loan. The interest is close to $4000 a year. I have not been submitting this form or claiming this on my tax return. Question: can I claim this interest on my return? The 1098-E has her name and social security number on it. But I am the one making all the payments. My response: Here is your answer… The 1098-E has her name and social security number on it. Therefore, she is the only person that can claim the deduction, on her tax return. Who makes the payments, or the situation involved, is irrelevant to the IRS. He is adamant that he can take the deduction. Is he right, or am I?
  9. It has allowed me to discuss many returns with the IRS. The rule is not cast in stone. Once, one year is past, it has no value whatsoever. At that point, only form 2848, and a credential of E.A., CPA or Attorney will get you any discussion.
  10. Has anyone had, or know someone that has, experience with Microsoft Office 2019? I found a really good deal on it, and wondered if the new features, or other things, are worth the time to upgrade?
  11. Gifts do not require a 1099. Direct answer: no.
  12. They won't hire me. My mindset is not like theirs. I have attempted to get hired, to help design the software, and teach "Customer Service" employees how to be "Customer Service" employees.
  13. Yes. It would have been part of a Windows update.
  14. Check your Windows update. 2018 requires netframework 7.4.2. It would have been included in a Windows update. Without the updates, you would have 7.4.1. I had exactly your problem. Updated the netframework, and BINGO! works just fine. Trust me on this one.
  15. I agree with you 100% I want my voucher to get free meals and food, as well as a promise of backpay, if I should get furloughed. My question: What did they do with all the extra money they have earned for all the years they have been government employees. Smart people have 6 months living expenses in a rainy day fund. If they don't, too bad, so sad.
  16. I e-file 1099 forms, through my tax program, in the same manner as I e-file tax returns. It just takes longer to get acks than returns.
  17. Print to a .pdf file, then you have complete control over what you print on your printer. Overthinking the problem too much.
  18. If the streaks go all the way down the page, the contamination is stationary (on the glass), since it does not move. If it were on the rollers, it would not be straight and would not go all the way down the page. the contamination can be clear to your eye, but show black to the scan. Look very closely, and clean very thoroughly & carefully. It only takes a tiny bit, to cause a streak.
